2021-2022 NHL Half Season Results
This season has been another weird one as a lot of matches were postponed. Not only that but, a few new names appeared as the top players in certain NHL Stats.
Being rather new in the fantasy pool world, I wanted to keep track of these stats through the years to see how they evolve & change. I hope it provides you the visibility you were looking for and if you are looking for an up to date list, you can find it here (daily updated): Click Here
Let’s start this half season summary with the point total.
Top Points Players
With a 4.09 Goal For average per game played, it was impossible to not have a Florida Panthers nor a Colorado Avalanche player in the top 5 most points. Jonathan Huberdeau has provided an incredible 47 assists for his team with a total of 64 points. He is being followed really closely by Draisaitl with his 63 points and 32 goals.
You would then find Kadri (60 points), Connor McDavid (60 points) and Alex Ovechkin (58 Points).
To be noted that due to injury and COVID related issues, Kucherov did not make the list. However, he has the most point per Game Played (17) with a ratio of 1.54.
Top Goal Scorers
In the top goal scorers, we’ve got another surprise on this 2021-2022 season as Chris Kreider from New York Rangers has the most goals scored with 33 goals in 47 games played. As previously said, he is being followed closely by Leon Draisaitl who has 32 goals scored in 42 Games Played.
You would then find Auston Matthews (29 Goals), Alex Ovechkin (29 goals) and Alex DeBrincat (26 goals).
Top Assist Players
As previously mentioned, Jonathan Huberdeau has 47 assists in 47 games which is incredible. However, I think the biggest surprise in this category will remain the addition of Nazem Kadri with his 41 assists (in 41 games played) and Adam Fox with his 40 assists (in 44 games played).
Top Shooter Per Games Played
It will come as no surprise that Alex Ovechkin is the top shooter per game played with 4.63 shots per game on 46 Games played. Alex Ovechkin has once again been on fire this season and does not show any reason to believe he is slowing down. He is on the path of doing 375 shots this season, something we haven’t seen him do since the 2015-2016 season where he scored 50 times.
Top Hits & Blocks Players
At the top of both lists, we can see players who have not played many games just yet. Evander Kane has just joined the Edmonton Oilers and Alec Martinez hasn’t come back since his face injury. Knowing this, I would consider Radko Gudas, Luke Schenn & Ryan Reaves the podium for the most hits per game played. If hits are a category your pool is using, those players were absolute units. On the blocks list, you will find Mario Ferraro with 2.74 blocks per Game played, Connor Murphy with his 2.7 blocks, and Calvin de Haan with 2.55 blocks per game played.
